Words, Words, Words written by David Ives, directed by Jackson Miles

Sure Thing and The Philadelphia written by David Ives, directed by Wes Melián

Last Tango in Little Grimley written by David Tristram, directed by Jez Beckett

Over the Wall written by James Saunders, directed by Jez Beckett

Five plays, three directors, and twenty-two actors. An action-packed evening of comedy full of laughs!

What’s more likely: a trio of monkeys locked in a room producing Shakespeare on typewriters, or two people in a café finding love at the ding of a bell?

Where do we find more drama: an amateur dramatic society desperately staging their next play, or a bunch of islanders grappling with an impenetrable wall?

And then there’s The Philadelphia, where nothing goes right, but somehow, everything makes sense.

From the absurd to the relatable, these five one-act plays guarantee an evening filled with comedy, intrigue, and unexpected twists. Gimme Five brings together a kaleidoscope of characters and situations, all connected by sharp wit and the timeless humor of life’s unpredictabilities.

PlayReading Group

A Madrid Players tradition! A comfortable environment to read together from a wide variety of scripts, take on new roles, and enjoy the company of like-minded, talented folks. It’s also a unique chance for writers to have their scripts read aloud (perhaps for the first time) by talented, experienced actors. No experience necessary.

This is what The Madrid Review has to say about Barefoot in the Park bt The Madrid Players:

The version of Neil Simon’s Barefoot In The Park that almost everyone is familiar with is the 1967 film starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. In Parisa Salahshourian’s brilliant new adaptation, which runs at the Teatro Tribueñe in Madrid from May 31st to June 2nd, she’s wisely guarded the magic spirit which lit the movie up, while sprinkling it with some new magic dust of her own….

SNOW WHITE - PANTOMIME 2023

The Panto has passed and this is just a glimpse of it….

(Soon we will upload photos in the site archive for past performances)

The venue was super, all the actors/ singers were fantastic, they all worked very well & I loved the way they walked out among the public. Thanks once again Madrid Players for a very pleasant evening

Not to be missed! Funny, thought-provoking and thoroughly entertaining, with wonderful direction and acting.
A superb production of a funny and surprisingly penetrating play about what can lurk beneath the surface of friendships. Excellent performances and direction.

Our audience had this to say:

It simply isn’t Christmas in Madrid without seeing The Madrid Players’ pantomime. We all had a marvellous time! We shouted, danced, booed and sang as loud as we could. I particularly enjoyed the costumes this year, they were absolutely beautiful.

“I loved the pantomime last night!! Well done on the whole cast and crew- i hadn’t been to one in years- it reminded me of the days when I was a kid and used to go with my parents!”

Bravo !!!! Enjoyed the show, thank you! So colorful, great sets, music and voices... lots of fun!

AUDIENCE REVIEWS OF WESTINGHOUSE-240

“Like a BBC Radio 4 play with visual cues!”

“The Madrid Players brought to life the words and created the drama of a very interesting and thought provoking script. It was like listening to an audio book but with more of a sense of atmosphere. I’d love to hear more!”

“An enjoyable evening, under a giant fig tree. The play was an entertaining mix of dark humour and terrifying interaction, which was brought to life by its reading.”
